Talks about a Resident Evil 3 remake have been swirling pretty much since the day Resident Evil 2’s remake was unveiled, but in recent weeks, the intensity of those talks has really ratcheted up. A recent leak claimed that Resident Evil 3 would be out as early as 2020, and the fact that box art for the game was discovered on the PlayStation Store promptly afterward lent that leak a hell of a lot of credence.
Most are in agreement that an official reveal for the game is coming up sooner rather than later, but there’s still some question marks over the timing of this reveal. Recently it was confirmed that Resident Evil 3 would not be at The Game Awards, but with Sony’s final State of Play for the year being broadcast in couple of days, there are may who feel an announcement is imminent.
And industry insider Sabi is saying that that will indeed the case, recently having taken to Twitter to confirm that Resident Evil 3 will be a “major reveal” at the upcoming State of Play. Sabi has had a proven track record with leaks of late, most notably with a number of them at E3 2019, so there’s definitely credibility to this source- that said, as is always the case with leaks, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt for now.
Either way, State of Play is going live on December 10, so there isn’t long left before we know for sure. Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated as more info comes our way.
