Resident Evil 6 sales unsatisfactory, Monster Hunter 4 delayed

Capcom delays the 3DS exclusive.

Capcom has went ahead and pushed back Monster Hunter 4’s March 2013 release date to a now unspecified release date. The 3DS exclusive RPG has been delayed due to the sales of Resident Evil 6, which have been described by Capcom as less than satisfactory.

“Sales… were initially strong but subsequently weakened,” Capcom said of Resident Evil 6’s commercial performance. “As a result, sales for this title are certain to fall short of the plan.” This comes after Capcom’s report last month that Resident Evil 6 has been, despite the criticism it has gotten, a success to some degree.

Due to RE6’s sales being unsatisfactory, Capcom is pushing back the release of Monster Hunter 4 “in order to further raise the quality of this game” so that the game would be more successful and make up for Resi 6’s failures.

Resident Evil 6 wasn’t exactly the kind of game everyone wanted. Like almost everyone else, we were largely disappointed with the game too. Read our review here.
