Resident Evil is, seemingly, as unstoppable force in gaming. A series that has constantly reinvented itself with the times, it’s had the staying power of few franchises from generation to generation ever since the first game’s release way back in 1996. And now it looks very possible we’re about to see the next entry sooner rather than later.
The Resident Evil Ambassador program, a digital program for fans that includes newsletters and contests and tracks game process, sent out a letter to select Japanese members with an invite to test out a new game that’s in development in Tokyo September 8th and 9th. The letter was received and translated by Biohaze, and you can see it at the link.
While there’s no details there, it’s possible that the game is the remake of Resident Evil 3 that’s been rumored for awhile, which would hopefully help it finally get into the top 10 best-selling horror games of all time. It is also possible that the game is a new spin-off, or even an enhanced port. Either way, if they are sending out invites like this, odds are it won’t be too long until we end up seeing something about it.
