Resident Evil Requiem Features Large Gameplay Areas, Grounded Horror Action With Leon – Rumor

Leaker AestheticGamer also reports that his story mainly occurs in 2020, eight years before the game's present-day scenario.

With Leon S. Kennedy allegedly being revealed in Resident Evil Requiem this week, some new details have emerged about how his gameplay could work. YouTuber Residence of Evil spoke with leaker AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, about the same, who noted that Leon’s story takes place mostly in 2020.

If you’ll remember, Grace Ashcroft’s story unfolds in 2028, eight years after the death of her mother, Alyssa (and apparently not all of it, at that). It’s alleged that these are two parts of an interconnected story rather than separate campaigns.

As for Leon’s gameplay sections, they’re reportedly bigger than Grace’s as he uses a vehicle to traverse levels. While they’re action-focused, the horror is grounded and less campy. And if you’ve seen any rumors of the horror vet sporting an eye-patch, both Dusk Golem and Residence of Evil reported they’re false.

Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom already clarified that there won’t be any news during its upcoming TGS 2025 Online Special Program, but it will be exhibited at the trade fair. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
