It’s been a year and a half since Resident Evil Village launched, but if you have a hankering to return to the game with new content, you can now do just that. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition has launched for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and it includes the newly-launched Winters’ Expansion in addition to the base game.
Winters’ Expansion, of course, is a meaty chunk of new content, bringing plenty to the table. For starters, there’s Shadows of Rose, a new story chapter set 16 years after the events of the base game, starring Rose Winters as the playable protagonist. The Mercenaries: Additional Orders, meanwhile, adds new content to the mode, including new stages and new playable characters in Chris Redfield, Lady Dimitrescu, and Karl Heisenberg. Finally, there’s also a new third person mode for the base game.
In our review of Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion, we awarded it a score of 7/10, saying, “Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion never feels like an essential, must-play addition to the RE universe, but those who enjoyed the base game will still find plenty to like here.” Read the full review through here.
Resident Evil Village is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Resident Evil Village Cloud has also launched for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s platform will be seeing the launch of Winters’ Expansion in December.
