Capcom has quite a bit in the works, especially when it comes to next-gen-only releases like Resident Evil Village. However, it also has reportedly has new Monster Hunter title in the works for Switch, developed on RE Engine. Both projects will be receiving more details soon but even more interesting is when they seem to be releasing.
According to AestheticGamer on Twitter (aka Dusk Golem on ResetEra) – who originally leaked details on the next Monster Hunter – Resident Evil Village was supposed to release in January 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic affected this but Capcom is still looking to release it and Monster Hunter Switch in this fiscal year. Street Fighter 6 was also originally planned for the same window but faced delays due to other development troubles.
AestheticGamer also confirms that Monster Hunter on Switch is “100 percent” real and that an “announcement is right around the corner.” With Nintendo announcing a new Nintendo Mini Direct: Partner Showcase for tomorrow, perhaps it could be announced there? Regardless, Resident Evil Village will be at Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online so expect more details on that in the coming weeks, at least.
