Resident Evil Village Will be at TGS 2020, Capcom Confirms

The trailer that was originally scheduled for August has been pushed back.

When Capcom unveiled Resident Evil Village in June, they said that they’d be sharing another update on the game in August, and subsequent reports had suggested that those plans were still on track. Well, August is over, and for those of you who’re wondering why the survival horror game didn’t show up, Capcom have an answer for you.

Taking to Twitter, the company confirmed that it will be bringing Resident Evil Village to the Tokyo Game Show 2020, which will run from September 23rd to 27th. In its tweet, Capcom also confirms that the update due in August was delayed, implying that it will now be the centerpiece of their TGS showing. Resident Evil has historically had a major presence at TGS most years over roughly the last couple of decades, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

Recently, Square Enix also confirmed their presence at the show, with games such as Babylon’s Fall, Balan Wonderworld, Marvel’s Avengers, and more included in their lineup. Read more on that through here.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil Village has been the subject of many alleged leaks of late- in that, not much has changed since before the game was officially announced. From its bosses and enemies to its early story beats and prologue to playable characters, details on quite a few things have emerged in recent weeks. Read about it all through the links, but beware of spoilers.

Resident Evil Village is due out for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC some time in 2021. Hopefully a more specific release date (or window) will be revealed at TGS.
