Sony has enjoyed plenty of success on PC with its early efforts on the platform so far, with the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, and Marvel’s Spider-Man in particular having found sizeable audiences in the PC gaming space, though more recent releases on the platform by the company haven’t fared as well. For instance, the most recent PlayStation title to release for PC – Housemarque’s acclaimed roguelike shooter Returnal – has endured a fairly subdued launch as well.
As per SteamDB, upon its launch last week, Returnal was able to hit peak concurrent user count of just 6,691 players on Steam. That’s the second-worst launch a Sony game has had on Steam so far, with Sackboy: A Big Adventure – which launched for the platform in October – only managing to hit a peak of 610 players.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which also released for PC in October, also saw low numbers upon launch, with peak concurrent user count of 10,851.
The next Sony game to release for PC is The Last of Us Part 1, which will be out on March 28.
