The really cool thing about Rocket League when it launched on PS4 and PC last year was how it allowed for seamless cross platform play between PC and PS4 players- something that was missing from the Xbox One version when it launched earlier this year, owing to Microsoft’s lockdown of Xbox Live. That, however, will be changing- with Microsoft having announced cross platform play between Xbox One and Xbox Live, and other systems and networks, Rocket League will become the first game ever to allow for full cross platform play between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
“To say that the team here at Psyonix is both honored and excited to have Rocket League as the first cross-network game is a massive understatement. Cross-network play has been the number-one most requested feature our community has asked for since Rocket League was first announced on Xbox One, and now that we are able to pursue complete online unity on all platforms, today’s announcement is a dream come true,” Psyonix’s announcement read on their site. “Expect to see Rocket League cross-network play working on Xbox One and PC later this spring, with information regarding other platforms coming soon.”
So, there’s the good news for everyone- Rocket League is now officially fully cross platform play!
