Saints Row IV Denied Classification Again by Australian Classification Board

Volition's open world adventure has been given a final verdict.

Saints Row IV hit the news not too long ago because of Australia, of all reasons. Simply put, the game’s racy content – primarily the drug use and anal probe weapon players can use to, er, “meet” new people – had the Australian Classification Board refusing to certify the game for sale in the continent within the R18+ classification.

Now, after being sent for classification again, Saints Row IV has again been denied classification. Kotaku posted a final verdict made by the board, which reads, “In the Review Board’s opinion, Saints Row IV could not be accommodated within the R 18+ classification as drug use related to incentives and rewards is not permitted.”

Apparently, due to the problems being caused, Deep Silver is apparently contemplating making a safe version of the game to retail in Australia. Does this mean censoring the entire friggin’ game from top to bottom? We’ll have to wait and find out as Saints Row IV approaches release in August.
