Sabotage Studio’s retro RPG Sea of Stars launched for PC and consoles earlier this year in August, and was instantly met with widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. That success has been reflected in the game’s performance on other fronts as well.
Sabotage Studio has announced that Sea of Stars has attracted over 4 million players across all platforms in less than four months. The game is, of course, also available for free to all subscribers of Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, so this number doesn’t represent how much it has sold. There’s no update on that front yet, though it was previously announced that the game had sold over 250,000 units in its first week.
Sabotage Studio has previously also confirmed that it’s working on DLC for Sea of Stars. Titled Throes of the Watchmaker, it will dive deeper into the connections the game shares with the developer’s debut title, The Messenger.
Sea of Stars is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
