Not many games have a turnaround story to tell as impressive and drastic as that of Sea of Thieves, with Rare’s sea-faring pirate adventure consistently going from strength to strength as it puts its rough launch far behind it. As you’d expect, it doesn’t look like Rare has any plans of slowing down either.
Sea of Thieves creative director Mike Chapman recently too to Twitter, and in a message calling for applicants in several new positions in the development team, he teased that Rare has “ambitious plans for the future of Sea of Thieves as part of our amazing studio.”
That doesn’t come as a surprise, given how excellently Rare has supported the online game since its launch and the level of success it has enjoyed as result. Last month, the studio also briefly laid out plans for continuing to add new story-driven content to the game throughout 2022, which you can read more about through here– though the PvP mode The Arena will be shutting down on March 10, coinciding with the launch of Season Six.
Sea of Thieves is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
