With Hi-Fi Rush, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall, Microsoft has released three major first party titles for Xbox Series X/S so far this year, and with Forza Motorsport and Starfield, it has a couple more confirmed to be in the pipeline for the coming months. There’s a chance, however, that one more might be being teased for this year.
Microsoft recently released an ad for Xbox Game Pass, which showcases a number of first and third party titles in the service’s current and upcoming catalog. Interestingly enough, when it comes to the latter, every game shown off is officially confirmed for a 2023 launch- all except one. At around the 13 second mark, the ad showcases a glimpse of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, which doesn’t yet have an official launch date. Could Microsoft be hinting at a 2023 release for the highly anticipated action-adventure sequel?
Since its last trailer at The Game Awards 2021, we’ve seen very little of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, with updates being limited to concept art, behind-the-scenes videos, and tech showcases. That said, leaks have claimed that of all upcoming first party Xbox titles that don’t have release dates, Ninja Theory’s sequel is the closest to launch.
Microsoft has its annual Xbox Games Showcase planned for next month, so hopefully we’ll be getting a long overdue update on Hellblade 2, among other first party titles.
