Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Delayed to April “at the Latest”

Though Frogwares nears the end of the production cycle, ongoing issues in Ukraine - including power shortages - have resulted in a delay.

Frogwares has revealed in a new video that Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, its re-imagination of the 2008 classic, has been delayed by few weeks. Originally set for February, it will now launch by April “at the latest.” The developer also revealed conditions in Ukraine, with the ongoing Russian invasion targeting infrastructure like electricity. Check it out below.

Sync-ups between team members are difficult, causing issues that could be resolved in a few hours to take days instead. The team is also developing for nine different platforms, so even issues with subtitles could be a major problem. Frogwares is nearing the end of the production cycle, though, and currently squashing bugs.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. In addition to revamped visuals courtesy of Unreal Engine, it also features new content that expands on the storyline and new side quests. Stay tuned for more details on a new release date in the coming weeks.
