Publisher EA and developer Full Circle have released a new video showing off development progress for the highly-anticipated skateboarding game Skate. The video features senior creative director Cuz Parry, senior animation director Matt Derksen, lead gameplay designer Ryan Pelcz, franchise art director Magali Sonnet-Debard, and lead level designer Elliott Walton.
The team states that all of the gamelay shown off in the new video isn’t exactly the same as what we’ve seen before. Rather, the team has taken quite a bit of feedback into account to iterate on the previous version of the game quite a bit. All of that said, the video also makes it clear that this is still incredibly early footage from a pre-pre-alpha build of Skate.
This is the first time we’ve seen gameplay footage from Skate since leaks from earlier this year. The studio had, at the time, released footage from an incredibly early version of the game, and despite its use of placeholder art and rough gameplay, the studio said that it felt “humbled” by the community’s resonse.
Skate doesn’t yet have a release date, but we do know that it is going to be free-to-play, and will feature microtransactions.
