Sonic Frontiers Tops 3.5 Million Sales

A recent press conference for Sega and Rovio reveals that the 3D platformer sold 300,000 more units after its last milestone.

Sega’s Sonic Frontiers has hit a new sales milestone, at least according to a new Sega and Rovio Press Conference. As discovered by @Radical_1991 on Twitter, the open zone 3D platformer has now topped 3.5 million units worldwide. Sega previously revealed that it sold 3.2 million units as of March 31st, 2023, meaning that 300,00 additional units were sold since then.

The sales fit nicely with Sega’s long-term plan for the title, increasing sales based on strategies “such as pricing, promotions, and the development of further DLC.” The free Sights, Sound and Speed update went live last month, adding new Challenge Modes for combat and speedy platforming, a Jukebox to play your choice of music anywhere, and a Photo Mode.

Two more free updates are planned, adding new Koko, Open Zone Challenges, anniversary content, new playable characters and additional story content. Stay tuned for more details on their release dates in the coming months. In the meantime, you can read our review for the base game.
