Starfield Crosses 1 Million Concurrent Players on All Platforms at Launch

Bethesda's first new universe in nearly 30 years is playable on Xbox Series X/S and PC. It's also available on Game Pass.

Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield was released yesterday for Xbox Series X/S and PC players, including Game Pass subscribers, and notched up some impressive numbers. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer revealed on Twitter that it had over one million concurrent players across all platforms.

It’s assumed that most of that total is on Xbox Series X/S or playing through Game Pass. SteamDB notes 269,177 peak concurrent players, with 135,255 currently online. Nevertheless, the concurrent players across all platforms are on track with the reported two million players that started last week. Those were all early access, so the total player count should be even higher now.

With how popular the physical version of the Premium Upgrade proved to be in the United Kingdom last week, Starfield should perform well sales-wise. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out our review, where we awarded the space-faring RPG a 10 out of 10.
