The latest physical and digital sales data for Europe from GSD is now available and confirms Bethesda’s Starfield “comfortably” topping charts in its launch week. Games Industry notes it’s the fastest-selling new IP of 2023 and the fifth fastest-selling title overall. Launch week sales are ahead of Final Fantasy 16 and Resident Evil 4 Remake but behind Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
It’s worth noting that Starfield’s early access period allowed for an extra few days of sales compared to other titles (with the Premium Upgrade debuting in seventh place). Nevertheless, it’s still a big success for Microsoft, unseating Forza Horizon 5 to become Xbox’s biggest launch title in Europe for the entire generation.
Check out the GSD Top Digital + Physical Top 10 charts for the week ending September 10th. You can also check the top week-one sales in Europe for 2023. Starfield is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our review, where we awarded it a 10 out of 10, here.
