Strider On PS4 & Xbox One Features SSAO, Improved Lighting, Expressive Particle Effects Due To GPU

Not to mention an increased resolution and frame rate.

Capcom and Double Helix are working hard to bring us Strider, a reboot of the classic 2D action platformer, to current and next gen consoles. Given the divide in power, GamingBolt asked Capcom Japan producer James Vance about the differences in current and next gen versions of Strider.

“The PS4 and Xbox One provide an increase in resolution and frame-rate over the PS3 and Xbox 360 of 720p to 1080p and 30 FPS to 60 FPS respectively.”

There will be significant bump in the visual effects as well to go with the improved frame rate and resolution. “The next-gen versions also include additional graphical upgrades, such as vastly increased character model fidelity, SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion), improved shadow filtering and lighting, as well as larger and more expressive particle effects thanks to GPU acceleration.”

Strider is currently set to release this year for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
