Subnautica: Below Zero Price Increase Coming on January 5th 2021

The underwater survival title is currently set to launch in early 2021.

Unknown Worlds Entertainment has been working hard on Subnautica: Below Zero, its follow-up to the hit underwater survival title. It was announced recently for Nintendo Switch but will also be coming to Xbox One and PS4 after its early access launch on PC next year. Before that, however, the development team has announced a price hike.

Currently retailing for $19.99, the title will cost $29.99 on Steam, Epic Games Store and other storefronts from January 5th 2021. This will be the final price increase and will not effect anyone who has purchased the game beforehand. Interestingly enough, Subnautica will also see a price increase from $24.99 to $29.99 – it will also continue to receive bug fixes and patches in the coming days.

As for the current state of Subnautica: Below Zero, the Relics of the Past update has effectively made it “complete”, which means it can be played from beginning to end. The 1.0 launch will likely add new content and the developer is polishing all the creatures, biomes and so on for the final release. Stay tuned for a more concrete release date in the coming months.
