Available in Spring 2023, both Arc System Works titles will also come to Xbox Game Pass and PC via the Microsoft Store.

Guilty Gear Strive is the base version of the game without either of the Season Passes. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Special Edition, however, is different. Along with the Version 2.0 update, which adds numerous improvements, it includes all of the previously released character DLC (including Blake and Yang from RWBY). You also get three Additional Color Sets.

Guilty Gear Strive is available for PS4, PS5, and PC, while BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is playable on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Check out our review for the former here and the latter here. Whether cross-platform play with Xbox will be available for Strive remains to be seen, so stay tuned for further details.

It goes live on April 14th for PS4 and PC. The public test will come to an end immediately following the next update.

Rollback netcode has been a very popular topic in the past year or two with more developers pushing to implement it for online play. Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear Strive had it at launch while BlazBlue Central Fiction received it back in February. Nexon’s DNF Duel, based on action RPG Dungeon Fighter Online, will also launch with the same in June.

With PS4 and PC players of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle finally getting the chance to enjoy rollback netcode, the question now is whether it will come to the Nintendo Switch version. Arc System Works hasn’t announced any plans for the same but stay tuned for any updates in the coming months.

The crossover fighting game will receive support for the same in April 2022 on both PC and PS4 (sorry, Nintendo Switch players).

Until then, Steam users can take part in public testing for rollback netcode on February 23rd at 3 PM PST. Arc System Works has been pushing for the feature in all of its titles including Guilty Gear Strive and the upcoming DNF Duel. How the response will be for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle remains to be seen. Its last major sales milestone was in June 2020 when it crossed 450,000 digital sales and global shipments.

In the meantime, Arc System Works is also working Persona 4 Arena Ultimax with Atlus, which releases on March 17th for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. It doesn’t seem to have rollback netcode at launch but the latter will consider adding it in with a future patch. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction on PC will receive the feature in February 2022 while BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle on PS4 and PC will get it in 2022. In the meantime, a public test for Central Fiction’s implementation starts tomorrow at 8 AM JST.

Rollback netcode has been a heavily requested feature for a number of Arc System Works’ fighters but the company implementing the same last year, starting with Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. The feature was available in Guilty Gear Strive at launch and contributed strongly to its popularity at launch. It now remains to be seen if other franchises like Granblue Fantasy Versus or Dragon Ball FighterZ will get the same treatment.

In the meantime, Arc System Works is also working on DNF Duel, a new fighting game based on Nexon’s Dungeon Fighter Online. It currently doesn’t have any confirmed platforms or a release date. Check out the latest trailer here.

Arc System Works’ bombastic 2D fighter BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle has achieved a new sales milestone. According to the developer, its total worldwide shipments and digital sales have crossed 450,000 since the initial launch. It’s been out since May 2018 for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Though the game’s second anniversary was last month, Arc System Works has announced an anniversary sale for Japan. The base game along with its DLC will be discounted from June 10th to 23rd on PS4 and from June 11th to 24th on Nintendo Switch. Expect similar discounts to follow for North America and Europe (perhaps to coincide with the upcoming Steam Summer Sale for PC).

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle features fighters from BlazBlue, Under Night In-Birth, Persona 4 and RWBY. It’s added more overtime with DLC and even brought in other franchises like Akatsuki Blitzkampf and Arcana Heart. For impressions on the fighting mechanics and story, check out our review here.
