After letting us take to the skies in a variety of planes, it's planned that we'll now be able to do the same with a different type of aerial vehicle next year.

Last year heralded the grand return of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The game saw you take to the skies in incredible detail in a variety of different airplanes. It was originally released to much fanfare on PC, with a version now set to be coming to the Xbox Series consoles this month. Flight Simulator has also seen a constant amount of updates, as well, to refine the experience as much as possible. Now, we know more is coming, including a new type of travel.

As detailed in the latest development update blog, it seems the much requested helicopter is planned to come to the game at some point next year. As you can see below, the team put up the most requested features, and helicopter was number 1 by a large margin, and it is listed as planned for 2022. That’s unfortunately all the information we have at the moment, so what this will look like is anyone’s guess, but it seems like they are at least working on getting you up in the air in a different way.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is available now for PC with a Xbox Series X/S version coming on July 27th. You can read more about that edition of the game, specifically how much space you’ll need, through here.

A number of interesting games debuted this past week at E3 - take a look at 30 here.

Every year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo has been the place for publishers to hype up their upcoming releases to ludicrous levels. However, it’s also the place for new games, whether they’re new sequels in hallowed franchises or original IP with spell-binding concepts. Let’s take a look at the top 30 biggest new games from E3 2019.

Outriders

Did you think that Marvel’s Avengers was the only game that would be revealed with no gameplay and fancy cinematics? Think again! People Can Fly finally debuted Outriders, its co-op shooter taking place on a planet with endless dangers. You’ll have a large arsenal of weapons and “powerful gunplay” but there’s not really much else to go off of. It’s out in Summer 2020 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC for what it’s worth but until then, we play the waiting game.

There was a lot of eye candy at E3 this year.

We’re approaching the end of this current console generation, which means developers are starting to squeeze every last bit of juice out of the PS4 and the Xbox One, to make their games look better than consoles games have ever looked. At E3, we got to feast our eyes on what’s surely going to be the final flourish of current gen releases before the PS5 and Scarlett roll around to hog all the limelight, so obviously, there were a lot of great looking games shown off, either in the press events themselves, or through demos on the showfloor. In this feature, we’ll be taking a look at what we felt were the fifteen best looking games of E3 2019.

HALO INFINITE

Granted, we didn’t get to see actual gameplay footage of Halo Infinite, but what we did see was rendered entirely in the game’s engine. 343 Industries have built up the SplipSpace engine from the ground up for Infinite, and it’s clear that from a visual standpoint, the final product is going to well worth all that effort.

It's coming to Xbox One and PC, and utilizes Microsoft's Azure cloud AI.

As if trying to cover every possible base at its E3 2019 presser, Microsoft revealed a trailer for Flight Simulator. The last major title in the flight simulation franchise was Flight Simulator X in 2006. The newest title seemingly hasn’t missed a beat. Check it out below.

Coming to PC and Xbox One, this Flight Simulator runs on Azure cloud artificial intelligence. The trailer’s 4K visuals look equally stellar, but there wasn’t an extensive list of features provided. It’s releasing in 2020 and will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox One, so we have time to wait.

Other announcements from Microsoft its E3 presser include the unveiling of Project Scarlett, which promises 120 fps and 8K resolution support. Designed with AMD’s Zen 2 and Navi technology in mind, the console will use its solid state drive as a virtual RAM to help cut down on loading times. It’s out in Holiday 2020, with 343 Industries’ Halo Infinite launching alongside it.

As 'Flight Cimulator.'

Back in the days predating Xbox, Microsoft used to have the best flight sim series on the market with its Flight Simulator series of video games. The series has largely lain dormant now for over a decade, but that hasn’t stopped old fans from yearning about, and wishing for a modern entry.

One of these fans decided to stop yearning and start doing- they took matters into their own hands and, with a user created mod for Paradox’s runaway hit Cities: Skylines, brought the classic franchise to the game.

It’s called Flight Cimulator, and it is available now through Cities: Skylines’ Steam Workshop page.

“What is this? A flight simulator inside a city builder? Yes! Follow your dreams,” the description reads.

The mod is still a work in progress, however, though we are promised more updates that will make it more authentic and realistic in the coming days.

For more on Paradox’s unbelievably successful Cities: Skyline, stay tuned to GamingBolt.
