Announced in July 2024 as part of the PlayStation China Hero Project, it hasn’t had any major updates until now.

Set after the fall of the Loulan kingdom in Western China, the story sees an exiled guard, known as “The Cursed Sand,” as he struggles to reunite with the princess. It offers top-down hack-and-slash combat where you can seamlessly shift between skeletal form and sand form, unleashing different abilities (like transforming into a giant sand tornado) and combos against undead foes and monsters.

Even the movement options, like burrowing underground to escape damage, look sleek. Of course, you’ll also run into massive bosses, including a giant sand serpent. With a diverse range of regions, spanning caverns and ruined cities, it’s looking like quite the journey.

Loulan: The Cursed Sand doesn’t have a release date, but it’s coming to PS5 and PC, and is available to wishlist now.

Like the recently announced Daba: Land of Water Scar, it’s an action RPG for PS5, though a release date wasn’t announced. Check out the first trailer below, courtesy of Gematsu.

Described as a “story-driven” action RPG, The Winds Rising is about a girl who meets a lost monster cub and leaves her village to embark on an adventure. While further details are vague, TiGames teases that the protagonist’s fate is “in the player’s hands” It also touts the combat as “refreshing and smooth” and the story as “immersive and captivating” (with the “rise and fall” of a kingdom at stake).

As an action RPG developed by Dark Star (the studio behind SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption), it’s coming to PS5. A release window wasn’t announced, but you can check out the first trailer below, via Gematsu.

Set in a world under threat, Daba is about a clay puppet that’s become human and who sets out to find water fragments within an ancient city. There are various environments to explore, including the aforementioned ancient city, abandoned ruins, a floating settlement, vast snowfields, and more. Levels are interconnected and nonlinear but also teeming with threats (including some massive bosses).

As the puppet collects the water fragments, they learn more about the world and themselves. Combat appears to mix Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty-style counters with Souls-like dodge-rolling. Stay tuned for more details on the action RPG in the coming weeks.

As reported by Gematsu on Twitter, it’s been announced that upcoming PlayStation China Hero Project titles Lost Soul Aside (developed by UltiZero Games) and Convallaria (developed by Loong Force) will both be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. This will be the first time that Sony itself is publishing PlayStation China Hero Project releases.

Of the two, Lost Soul Aside in particular has turned more than a few heads over the years. The game has been in the limelight for several years at this point, impressing with its promising showings on a number of occasions. Its last major update arrived in April of last year, when it was confirmed that whenever it launches, it will release for both PS5 and PS4.
