Guard Crush's acclaimed beat 'em up finally arrives for Xbox, but you can also look forward to Disco Elysium and The Long Dark.

The second wave of Game Pass for March has been revealed, and in case you thought Microsoft couldn’t top the addition of Cyberpunk 2077, think again. It kicks off on March 18th with South of Midnight and The Alters becoming available on Game Pass Premium for cloud, console and PC players. Things quickly escalate on March 19th with the arrival of Disco Elysium: The Final Cut for all three tiers.

On March 24th, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will finally be added to the service for Ultimate, Premium and PC subscribers. Guard Crush Games’ Absolum follows on March 25th, which also marks the acclaimed rogue-lite beat ’em up’s debut on Xbox Series X/S.

Nova Roma, a city-building title from Lion Shield, will premiere in Game Preview for Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, coinciding with its early access release. Survival crafting fans can look forward to The Long Dark becoming available on March 30th for Premium, PC, and Ultimate. Finally, Resident Evil 7: biohazard will be playable on March 31st, joining the Resident Evil Village.

But wait, there’s more. Barbie Horse Trails kicks off next month alongside Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the latter finally available to Premium subscribers. If that wasn’t enough, Square Enix’s march to include every single mainline Final Fantasy title on Game Pass seemingly continues with Final Fantasy 4 on April 7th.

Surprisingly, only two games will be leaving the service on March 31st. Check them out below:

Peppa Pig World Adventures (Cloud, Console, PC)

Mad Streets (Cloud, Console, PC)

Retailing for $89.99, the Resident Evil Generation Pack represents insane value, so it makes sense that Capcom is pulling it soon.

Amid the success of Resident Evil Requiem, which is now the series’ biggest launch on Steam, it’s important to remember that Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and Resident Evil 7: biohazard Gold Edition are also available on the Switch 2. Both are excellent ports and well worth playing, especially with the Resident Evil Generation Pack offering all three games for just $89.99.

Of course, with Resident Evil Requiem retailing for $69.99, this means you’re getting the other two for just $30 – an insane deal. Maybe a little too insane, though, as the eShop listing for the bundle indicates that it won’t be available after March 31st, 11:59 PM EDT. The individual titles will still be available to purchase.

However, considering their prices – biohazard costs $39.99 while Village is $49.99 – the Generation Pack remains the superior purchase. The fact that you also get all their DLC, including the Winters’ Expansion, just makes it all the sweeter.

For more details on the Switch 2 ports, check out our reviews for Resident Evil 7: biohazard and Resident Evil Village. As for Resident Evil Requiem, we reviewed it on PS5 and gave it a nine out of ten. It’s easily one of the best titles in the series and, based on reported pre-orders, might be Capcom’s most successful yet.

For survival horror fanatics who own a Nintendo Switch 2, Resident Evil 7 is incredibly easy to recommend.

It feels like it was only recently that the developer kickstarted the revival of the Resident Evil franchise with Resident Evil 7, one that has spawned a litany of excellent follow-ups and remakes in the time since then- but it’s been almost a decade since the acclaimed 2017 survival horror title launched. Now, to align with the release of Resident Evil Requiem, the developer is also bringing Resident Evil 7 (and Village) to the Nintendo Switch 2, marking the first time that the acclaimed horror title is available on a Nintendo platform (barring a cloud-only release for the original Switch that, let’s face it, is best left ignored).

To no one’s surprise, the game very much holds up nine years on from its original launch. Since it came out, Resident Evil 7 has been frequently called one of the best entries in the franchise, and going back to it on the Switch 2, it’s easy to remember why. RE7 still delivers the same intensely horrifying and immaculately designed classic horror experience that won hearts in 2017, while managing to largely maintain its visual and technical heights with its Switch 2 ports, barring some rough edges here and there.

"Combat is, as is usually the case with Resident Evil, another one of the game’s strengths."

Taking a clean break from the larger story that its predecessors had collectively told, Resident Evil 7 places players in the shoes of everyman Ethan Winters, who travels the dilapidated Baker residence in the bayous of Louisiana after receiving a message from his wife, who has supposedly been dead for three years.

When he arrives at the mansion, it quickly becomes clear that things have gone horrifically wrong, and are only going to get worse. And so begins Ethan Winters’ night of terrors, which sees him navigating the haunting corridors of the Baker residence, dealing with the crazed inhabitants of the estate, and having to fight monstrous creatures known as the Molded.

After the disappointingly high-octane, globe-trotting, action-driven experience that Resident Evil 6 delivered (in the process nearly killing the franchise), Resident Evil 7 was envisioned as a return to form for the series- a back to the basics venture that would take the series back to its survival horror core. RE7 excels at that, delivering a near-perfect survival horror experience in all the ways that genre fans would expect. The Baker residence remains one of the best settings in a horror game ever, and slowly unlocking its secrets and getting past its obstacles feels as satisfying as ever.

A lot of that is down to incredibly layered, interconnected level design, which evokes all the heights of the Resident Evil franchise (and in particular, the original Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion) in all the best ways.

"Though the Bakers and the boss fights do throw some much needed variety into the mix, the fact remains that, for the majority of the game, Ethan is going up against very few kinds of the Molded, which can get pretty monotonous."

Puzzles are also smartly designed, making exploration feel that much more engaging, while also exhibiting impressive variety, as is often true of Resident Evil games. Meanwhile, just as crucial to making the Baker residence such a compelling setting is the game’s strong sense of atmosphere- the wind whistling beyond the grimy windows, wood creaking under unknown footsteps in the distance, the suffocating darkness that Ethan often finds himself in- in more ways than one, Resident Evil 7 expertly immerses players in its world.

Combat is, as is usually the case with Resident Evil, another one of the game’s strengths. The game boasts unforgettable boss fights, excellent weapon feel, and meaningful upgrades and progression, with every encounter that Ethan finds himself in feeling suitably tense, especially given the near constant lack of ammo and resources that Ethan has to contend with.

Of course, Resident Evil 7 is not flawless in this department- a lack of enemy variety was one of the game’s few prominent issues highlighted by players when it first launched, and that obviously remains true. Though the Bakers and the boss fights do throw some much needed variety into the mix, the fact remains that, for the majority of the game, Ethan is going up against very few kinds of the Molded, which can get pretty monotonous.

On the technical front, Resident Evil 7 on the Nintendo Switch 2 is a solid port. Roughly, you can expect the game to be on the same technical level as its original PS4 release, especially in terms of things such as visual quality, texture quality, lighting, and shadows. Impressively, the game also maintains a consistent 60 FPS frame rate, which is a significant boost to the gameplay experience.

"Resident Evil 7’s Switch 2 release also comes pack with content, as you’d expect from a Gold Edition launch from the developer."

There are, of course, some rough edges here and there, just as there were in the original release, from occasionally bland textures to some wonky animations and more, but by and large, this is still a good looking game- even if it doesn’t quite compare to, say, Resident Evil 7 running on a PS5 or a powerful PC.

Resident Evil 7’s Switch 2 release also comes pack with content, as you’d expect from a Gold Edition launch from the developer. In addition to the 10 hour long main story, it also includes all of the game’s post launch content, including, notable, End of Zoe, Not a Hero, and Banned Footage, all of which collectively add another 6-8 hours of additional content (or more, depending on how deeply you engage with the optional stuff).

For the most part, the DLCs don’t quite reach the incredible highs of the base game (with some sequences and moments that prove to be notable exceptions), but all in all, RE7’s Switch 2 Gold Edition launch offers plenty of bang for your buck.

Whether you’re someone who is looking to re-experience Resident Evil 7 on the Nintendo Switch 2, or someone who is looking to jump into the game for the first time ever, its latest re-release on Nintendo’s current-gen platform is an excellent excuse to do just that.

This game was reviewed on Nintendo Switch 2.

That may not be the case for long, however, as Resident Evil 7: biohazard is closing in on 16 million sales since it launched in 2017.

Capcom’s latest financials don’t paint the best picture for Monster Hunter Wilds post-launch, but it’s not all bad news. Devil May Cry 5 reached nearly 11 million units sold with over 2.1 million copies in the first half of this fiscal year. Then there are the big four Resident Evil titles, which continue to sell well years after launch.

Resident Evil Village is worth pointing out first. It sold 12.872 million copies, with 1.566 million sold in the past two quarters. That puts it above the more recent Resident Evil 4 remake, but the latter is still performing well with 1.266 million sold in the same period for a lifetime total of nearly 11.2 million.

Of course, neither can measure up to 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake, the current highest-selling title in the series at 16.342 million units sold. However, Resident Evil 7: biohazard shouldn’t be ignored – it’s slowly creeping up towards 16 million units sold with almost 1.2 million sold in this fiscal year thus far.

The title is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 next year in February alongside Resident Evil Village, so it could very well unseat Resident Evil 2 remake in the process.

Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline title, launches on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders go live later today, so expect further details on its price and various editions.

Both titles will launch for Switch 2 on the same day as Resident Evil Requiem, and include all of their DLC and expansions.

Alongside a new trailer and the announcement of Resident Evil Requiem coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Capcom announced two more Resident Evil titles bound for the console. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and Resident Evil 7: biohazard Gold Edition will launch on February 27th, 2026, for the Switch 2. Instead of cloud versions, both will be available natively.

Resident Evil Village includes the Winters’ Expansion and Trauma Pack, with the former continuing the base game’s story with Shadows of Rose. It also featured new characters for Mercenaries mode. Resident Evil 7: biohazard packs all DLC content as well, alongside Not A Hero, a story expansion focused on a pivotal side character.

Stay tuned for more details like their resolutions, frame rates and much more in the coming months. Resident Evil Requiem is available on the same day and will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
While Village remains the fastest title in the series to reach 10 million sales, Resident Evil 7 is Capcom's fourth-best-selling title ever.

While the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 continue performing well for Capcom, its mainline titles are no slouch. Following updates to its Platinum Titles list, it revealed that Resident Evil Village has sold 10.1 million copies worldwide as of June 30th, 2024. It crossed 10 million sales on June 11th and became the fastest title in the series to achieve the milestone.

However, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is equally impressive, reaching 13.7 million units sold. That’s 400,000 additional units sold since the last quarter. Though it first launched in January 2017, it’s currently the franchise’s second best-selling title behind Resident Evil 2 remake and Capcom’s fourth best-selling in history.

While there have been rumors of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, Capcom has only confirmed the ninth mainline title. Directed by Koshi Nakanishi, details like a release date and platforms aren’t available, but he feels it will be “substantial.” Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.

As one of Sony's most successful consoles, the PlayStation 4 is home to some of the best games ever. Check out 30 of them here.

With the downs and ups that the PlayStation 3 had faced, it was refreshing to see the PlayStation 4 remain consistently dominant throughout its time. Several great titles were released throughout, some redefining gaming as we know it, while others pushed the boundaries of what consoles could achieve with their limited hardware. Let’s look at 30 of the best PS4 games and reminisce on what made them great.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Is Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the greatest games of all time, really the best Xbox One and PS4 title? Yes, it is, because even with the hardware limitations, Rockstar Games delivered an excellent open-world action-adventure. The story is fantastic; the characters, especially protagonist Arthur Morgan, are fantastic; and the gameplay, while not for everyone, is realistic and incredibly detailed with a wide range of activities.

Some of these games went on to become successful. Others were doomed to failure.

The games industry has come a long way from its humble beginnings and stands tall as one of the most valuable mediums of entertainment with a market cap that’s much larger than TV or movies. Games require large amounts of capital, time, and manpower to produce – which is why publishers and investors are too resistant to take risks that might or might not pay off. But of course, that’s not always the case and we have had plenty of examples of risky AAA ventures which we will be discussing in this feature.

Fallout 76

While Fallout had already switched gears from being a top down RPG to a full blown first person adventure with the third entry, the franchise’s biggest risk to date has undoubtedly been Fallout 76. Released in 2018, Fallout 76 sought to take what was a predominantly single player franchise and morph it into a live service game. But that process was far from smooth, and the launch version of Fallout 76 was criticized by fans on account of its empty world and technical inefficiencies galore. But thankfully, Bethesda didn’t give up on the game and Fallout 76 has become much better with each new content update. As it stands now, Fallout 76 is easily one of the best ways to experience the franchise – which ultimately makes this risky venture a smash success.

From the terrifying and nail-biting to insanely over-the-top, some of Resident Evil's final bosses deserve serious recognition.

The Resident Evil franchise is one of the longest-running in gaming, and its story has seen tons of twists and turns. There have been incredible villains (and major disappointments) and enormous set pieces, and despite how ridiculous things could get, its boss fights remain memorable. Let’s look at 10 of the best final bosses in the series, which ended their respective games on an emotional high.

HAOS – Resident Evil 6

There are a few positive things about Resident Evil 6, but the final boss of Chris’s story, a massive BOW named HAOS, was pretty good. The fight begins as a sheer spectacle, with Chris and Piers using gunfire to wear the creature down. Just when they think it’s done, it gives chase through the narrow corridors of the underwater lab.

Piers becomes injured, and it seems Chris is done for, but not before the former infects himself and mutates to fire lightning at HAOS. Of course, even when the creature looks defeated, it comes back one last time to stop Chris from escaping, leading Piers, who stayed in the facility to sacrifice himself, stopping it and saving Chris one last time.

Resident Evil 3 (2020) is currently at 6.4 million units sold, while Resident Evil 7: biohazard has sold 11.7 million units.

As of December 31st, 2022, it reveals that Resident Evil 2 (2019) has sold 11.2 million units thus far. It sold over 10 million units in July 2022, with more than one million additional units sold since September 30th, 2022.
