Unlike many annual sports titles MotoGP developer Milestone strive for meaningful improvement with every iteration, and MotoGP 24 is the biggest leap between versions since the Italian studio took over in 2013. Principal of these changes are bike physics, especially the feel of the rear brakes into corners and the stability of the 2-wheeler as you accelerate out. Competition is fiercer too: adaptive AI and penalties dished out from stewards to any rider on track – not just the player – fosters centimetre-close, front-wheel-to-rear-wheel racing.

Ubisoft has given away a number of free games over the past few weeks in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s repeating that same initiative but this time with all of those games – and more – free to claim on PC via Uplay. Head over to the link here and you can claim titles like Assassin’s Creed 2, Rayman Legends and Child of Light for free.

Other titles include Might and Magic Chess Royale and Rabbids Coding! These can all be claimed by May 5th so act now. Free trials for games like Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Trials Rising, The Crew 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands and The Division 1 and 2 are also available to play.

Ubisoft has plenty else going on recently with the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Gameplay for the open world title, set in the Dark Ages and focusing on Vikings, will debut on May 7th at Inside Xbox. The game itself will release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia this holiday season. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

After initially announcing 12 games for the launch of Stadia, Google has added 10 more titles to the list. These include games like Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, Final Fantasy 15, GRID, Metro Exodus, NBA 2K20 and RAGE 2. Also, Stadia Pro subscribers will receive Samurai Shodown along with Destiny 2: The Collection.

Other titles that have been confirmed for the service include Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mortal Kombat 11 and the last three Tomb Raider games. Other games like Borderlands 3, Darksiders Genesis, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint are still slated to release this year. Beyond that, we’ll have to wait and see.

There’s no denying that Google has its work cut out for it with Stadia. The company recently confirmed that several major features like family sharing, the Achievement UI and Buddy Pass system won’t be available at launch. Stadia also won’t work with existing Chromecast Ultra devices – only with those provided in the Founder’s Pack and Premiere Edition. Google has announced all of the titles that Stadia, its game streaming platform, will launch with. A total of 12 games will be available with 14 more titles coming by 2019 end. The list includes big names like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Destiny 2: Collection, Mortal Kombat 11 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

It’s worth noting that those who purchased the Founder’s Edition of Google Stadia will receive a three month subscription to Stadia Pro. This enables playing Destiny 2: Collection, which includes the latest expansion Shadowkeep, at no additional cost. Though free games will be added to the service overtime, customers will still need to buy games to play them.

Releasing on November 19th, Stadia’s main selling point is the lack of any dedicated hardware and the ability to play games anywhere. Google also promises that games on Stadia will feel faster and more responsive than they would on local hardware in the coming years. After Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Marvel’s Avengers would have playable demos at Gamescom, Ubisoft has announced its line-up for the show as well. Check out the snazzy trailer below to see what’s in store. Playable titles will include Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Rainbow Six Siege with its latest content, and Roller Champions (PC-only).

Interestingly, Watch Dogs: Legion will also be at the show, but as a “theater demonstration”. Perhaps we can expect new gameplay footage, showcasing some of the other mechanics in store (though how Ubisoft plans to top “Play as any NPC” remains to be seen). The latest content for Brawlhalla, Just Dance 2020, and Trials Rising will also be showcased.

As Ubisoft EMEA executive director Alain Corre states, “Gamescom is a celebration of games and gamers that Ubisoft is always happy to be a part of. This year, players will have the opportunity to interact with our teams and get a first look into the future of technologies such as streaming and the impact they will have on our industry. It’s an exciting moment, not only for us as creators, but also for players to discover more about the experiences we are developing.”

Gamescom takes place from August 20th to 24th with an Opening Night Live ceremony hosted by Geoff Keighley. Other companies scheduled to make announcements include Bungie, Activision, Google Stadia, Epic Games, and so on. There will also be an “exclusive new look” for Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, which is no longer listed as a PS4 exclusive on the PlayStation Australia site. Ubisoft’s stunt based racing game, Trials Rising, has taken us to a lot of places. The last expansion took us through the legendary American Route 66 locations. But now there’s something a little different in store for players. You can perform your death-defying stunts with a big time throw back with Season 2, Medieval Motor Mayhem.

You can see the trailer for the season below. It contains a lot of content based around some old school, very old school, looks. You have four Knight and Ronin themed headlights and ten new helmets. You also get new medieval themed tracks and costumes to complete the aesthetic.

Looking a little to the future, it also details a Summer Event taking place in July where you can collect ice cream cones to unlock an exclusive helmet. So, look out for that next month.

The latest in the extreme motocross and stunt series, Trials Rising, is getting its first DLC expansion, and it features the legendary Route 66 that once went through Midwestern America.

As you can see from the trailer and announcement below, the expansion will add over 20 new tracks, 2 new skill games, and an exclusive new football-themed outfit, which you can just spot in a brief social media cameo near the end of the video. You’ll have to race and pull off stunts across the dusty deserts of America’s Midwestern towns. Along with all this are new Contracts to earn points in your death-defying stunts. You’ll definitely get some kicks on this Route 66.

A new patch has come out for Trials Rising across all platforms, largely addressing issues with multiplayer. An odd omission from the base release was private multiplayer, but with this update it’s finally being added to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game (no word on when or if they will be added to the Nintendo Switch version).

The patch also includes stability fixes and improvements to local multiplayer across all platforms, as well as tweaks to the inventory system that caused duplicate items. The track editor will also see some alterations, such as one that fixes an issue that caused track save files to disappear from the track editor after over-writing saves, and another that caused the rider to instantly crash if a driveline was placed close to the world limits in the track editor. On top of that, the Switch version will see a fix to address some incorrect button inputs on the Switch version.

Trials Rising is here at last, and maybe this is going to be your first time going hands on with Ubisoft’s crazy motocross racing/stunt jumps series. Even if it’s not, it’s been five years since the last main entry came out, and maybe you’re rusty. So, here are some basic tips and tricks to get you started.

TIPS AND TRICKS

• It’s not all about speed. The thing is, air time can help you get flips, but it’s also slower than being on hard tarmac and speeding. Sometimes, it’s best to ease off the gas as you near the edge of a ramp to get fewer air time, but more time on the ground to regain speed.
• Complete the tutorials—Trials is basically a platformer, and a physics based one at that. The tutorials will help you come to grips with the physics and controls of the game, which is always helpful.
• Experiment with the bikes. There’s no “best bike”, so don’t try to find one in vain. Just try different ones—maybe the traction on one will be to your liking, or maybe you’ll like the rapid acceleration on another. Experiment.
• Flip off! No, I’m not cussing you out. Flips are an important part of the gameplay loop in Trials, so learn how to do them—lean in a direction as you near the ramp, keep leaning to start flipping in that direction, start leaning in the opposite direction to counter your rotation as you are about to hit the ground.
• Explore the tracks! There are a lot of secrets and collectibles for you to find, so make sure to go off the beaten path, such as there is one, to see what you can scope out
• Sell duplicate items. Yes, you can do that, and it’s an easy influx of cash when you are running low.

WHERE TO FIND ALL 62 GOLD SQUIRRELS?

There are 62 Gold Squirrels to find in Trials Rising, and getting them all nets you an Achievement/Trophy. This video below shows you where to find them.

Even with concerns about its physical launch sales in the UK not measuring up to even Mass Effect Andromeda, BioWare’s Anthem continues to dominate charts in its second week. According to UKIE/Gfk Chart-Track (via GamesIndustry), the online looter shooter saw a 71 percent drop in sales over the past week. FIFA 19, another Electronic Arts title, meanwhile managed to place second.

New entries in the top ten include The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame in fourth place, with the PS4 version making up 59 percent of sales, and DiRT Rally 2.0 in sixth place, also having 59 percent of its sales on PS4. Codemasters’ latest rally title actually accounted for the second highest revenue of the week due to its higher retail price and was only beat out by Anthem.

The final new entry for the week was Trials Rising, particularly the Gold Edition, which debuted in tenth place. It saw 39 percent of sales on PS4, 33 percent on Xbox One, and 28 percent on Nintendo Switch. That’s a pretty good split, especially considering the franchise has just now made its debut for Nintendo consoles with this entry. As for Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive 6, it didn’t even come close to cracking the top 10, debuting in 21st place.
