Microsoft recently announced that it would feature a showcase for Xbox Series X games with its “global developer partners” on May 7th. One of those is Ubisoft which will debut gameplay for the recently revealed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft Nordic confirmed the same on Twitter.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as the name indicates, is set during the Dark Ages with players controlling Eivor of the Vikings. As either a male or female Eivor, you’ll conduct raids against forts and locations in England, pillaging the resources and gold to grow your own settlement. Dialogue choices, gear progression and other RPG elements have been confirmed for the title.

Releasing in holiday 2020, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. Smart Delivery support has been confirmed for the Xbox One version, as per a recent Best Buy listing. Will its +2.5 years of development make for a successful evolution of the Assassin’s Creed RPG formula? We’ll see for ourselves next week.
