Supermassive Games may not be making direct sequel to Until Dawn, but they are making something very familiar to that with their The Dark Pictures anthology series, multiple titles that will feature different casts and settings. Today we got a pretty lengthy look at the first game in that series, Man of Medan, showing off what type of game we’re in for.
Via Game Informer, Supermassive showed off nearly 11 minutes of gameplay footage of the title, which you can see below. We get a look at several parts of the early game, showing a scene of friends chilling out while telling cheesy ghost stories and then a pirate hijacking on the crew’s small boat right before they come up to a ghost ship, the game’s key location.
Until Dawn fans will find the choice system familiar, where you’re given several options based on a certain mood or feeling (frustration, anger, dismissiveness, etc.). While the gameplay footage doesn’t go much into the horror part the game promises, there are some spliced in bits from later in the game at the beginning and end to give you an idea of what creepy stuff you’ll encounter.
The Dark Pictures: Man of Median will launch some time this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
