The Outer Worlds 2 Launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC

Obsidian Entertainment has showcased a new trailer for its upcoming first-person sci-fi RPG, which is due out next year.

Obsidian Entertainment and Microsoft officially announced The Outer Worlds 2 back in 2021, and at The Game Awards, we got our first look at the game since then, with a new trailer debuting gameplay footage for the upcoming first-person sci-fi RPG sequel. Check it out below.

Touting The Outer Worlds’ trademark humorous tone, the trailer states that The Outer Worlds 2, which took nearly thrice as long to develop as the first game, will be twice as big as its predecessor was, and will also feature plenty more weapons, action, and plenty of visual and technical enhancements.

Interestingly enough, Obsidian and Microsoft have also confirmed that The Outer Worlds 2 will be a multiplatform game at launch, and will be available for PS5, joining the likes of DOOM: The Dark Ages and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as first-party Microsoft titles that launch for multiple platforms.

The Outer Worlds 2 is due out sometime in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Another Obsidian Entertainment-developed RPG, Avowed, launches in February.
