The Outer Worlds Switch Will Run At 30 FPS; 720p In Handheld Mode, 1080p When Docked

The game will also support gyro controls on Nintendo's hybrid.

Porting games made natively for PC and current-gen consoles to the considerably weaker Switch is never an easy task, but developers have kept on pulling it off with some truly impossible ports, while some are confident that the same can be done for any game made for the PS4 and Xbox One. While Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds is far from the most technically demanding game – especially by today’s standards – may are still curious to know how it will run on the Switch.

Apparently, it’ll run pretty well. Speaking with Nintendo Everything, The Outer Worlds publisher Private Division confirmed that the game will run at 30 frame per second on the system. As far as resolution is concerned, when you’re playing in handheld mode, the game will run at 720p, while in console mode, it will run at 1080p. Something else that’s been confirmed is that gyro controls have also been added for the Switch release (though their exact nature hasn’t been detailed).

The Outer Worlds is out for the Switch on June 5. It is also available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
