Obsidian Entertainment’s space-faring RPG The Outer Worlds is out now on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC- but the game is also coming to the Nintendo Switch, with Virtuous handling the game’s port. However, when the announcement was made, no specific release date (or even a release window) was provided for when the Switch window would arrive.
Thanks to a recent press release though, that’s been remedied (to some extent). In the press release, which was concerned mostly with the game’s recent launch, publishers Private Division confirmed that the Switch version will be out next year. They wrote: “Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment are proud to announce that The Outer Worlds is now available across the Xbox One family of devices, including Xbox One X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Windows PC, and will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020.” No specific release window or date is provided still, but at least now we know we have to wait till next year for the game’s Switch release.
The Outer Worlds developers are already looking into some issues with the game’s current launch, most of which pertain to the size of subtitles and text in the game. The RPG has also had successful launch, debuting at No. 4 in the UK sales charts.
