The Witcher 3 Switch Version Shows Up In Asian Retailer Systems – Rumor

Could the fantasy epic be coming to the Switch?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a huge game for developer CD Projekt RED. It put them on the map and put a big spotlight on their next title, Cyberpunk 2077. It was noted for its strong graphics and fantastic writing, and went on to win a lot of major GOTY awards in 2015. One place it didn’t end up was the Switch (largely because the Switch didn’t exist at that time)- but could that be changing soon?

A Chinese website, weibo, claims that The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition (the re-release of the title that included the game’s acclaimed expansions) will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in September. Already, listings for it have popped up in several other Asian retailer systems as well, as indicated by shop search site Taobao.

As always with these kinds of leaks, take it with a grain of salt. While the game is a bit on the older side now, it was pretty hefty at the time of release and took the current base consoles to the limits in several ways. That’s quite a power gap to overcome for Nintendo’s console, especially since Wild Hunt was a full open world title. But there has been some impressive attempts to get games downported to the system thanks to its success, while there was a job listing from CDPR that mentioned the Switch earlier in the year, so you never know.
