X019 – kicking off in a few hours – is shaping up to be a big event for Microsoft. Supposedly, it’s the biggest Inside Xbox ever, with major news about Game Pass and xCloud, multiple upcoming games being playable, and reportedly even new first party IP announcements. However, one thing that will be missing from the show is news about next gen.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, the Xbox GM of Marketing Aaron Greenberg confirmed that there will be no news of the Xbox Scarlett at X019, and that the show will only be focusing on games. Of course, we might still get news about games coming to the Xbox Scarlett – with the new IP announcements, that’s almost a certainty – but as far as the console itself is concerned, we’ll have to wait until next year to receive more info.
Ahead of the show going live, leaks in the past few hours have spilled the bans on plenty of stuff that we can expect to see, including a release date announcement for Ninja Theory’s Bleeding Edge, and Halo: Reach getting shadow dropped into The Master Chief Collection. Microsoft even teased news for Age of Empires 4, so there’s plenty to look forward to later today.
