UK Charts: Red Dead Redemption 2 Retakes Top Spot, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Sees Massive Boost

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate drops down to 4th place in its second week on the market.

Last week, Gfk Chart-Track reported that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had topped its weekly sales charts for physical video game sales in the UK, in the process becoming the fastest selling Super Smash Bros. game and the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game ever in the region. This week, beings its second week on the market, has seen drop in its sales by 52 per cent, as GamesIndustry reports, taking it down to fourth place in the charts.

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, then, has retaken the top spot this week, seeing a 19 per cent increase in sales. With a 30 per cent increase in sales, FIFA 19 also climbed up one position from last week, coming in at second place, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, in this week at third position, has seen the largest growth spurt of all, with a week-on-week increase in sales of 175 per cent. Each of these three games has now also sold over a million physical copies in the UK- do remember that digital sales are not counted in Gkf Chart-Track’s weekly charts.

Just Cause 4, which saw a disappointing debut last week with a sixth place finish, saw a minor drop of 47 per cent in its second week on sale, but has dropped out of the top 10. Nintendo evergreen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe retains its fifth place from last week, while the likes of Forza Horizon 4, Spider-Man, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy all also saw bumps in sales.
