After being rated in Brazil and South Korea, Square Enix’s Valkyrie Elysium has now been rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) in the United States. It’s received “T” for Teen due to language and violence. The description also provides a few new details.
Along with traversing the world to fight monsters and recruit Einherjar to her cause, the protagonist will also battle “fellow Valkyries” and “boss characters.” The latter seemed a given; however, the former is interesting. It may offer a hint for the identity of the mysterious character shown in the announcement trailer.
Along with swords, players can also wield spears, which we’ve yet to see gameplay for. There’s also a sequence where a character is “dramatically impaled by a spear” so make of that what you will. Valkyrie Elysium will be released this year for PS4, PS5 and PC. With the recent ratings, it may only be a matter of time before Square Enix announces a release date. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
