After being rated in Brazil and South Korea, Square Enix’s Valkyrie Elysium has now been rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) in the United States. It’s received a “T” for Teen due to language and violence. The description also provides a few new details.

Along with traversing the world to fight monsters and recruit Einherjar to her cause, the protagonist will also battle “fellow Valkyries” and “boss characters.” The latter seemed a given; however, the former is interesting. It may offer a hint for the identity of the mysterious character shown in the announcement trailer.

Along with swords, players can also wield spears, which we’ve yet to see gameplay for. There’s also a sequence where a character is “dramatically impaled by a spear” so make of that what you will. Valkyrie Elysium will be released this year for PS4, PS5 and PC. With the recent ratings, it may only be a matter of time before Square Enix announces a release date. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
