Dontnod Entertainment’s Vampyr may have had somewhat of a mixed reaction with critics (although we certainly liked it lot). However, it did fairly well in its first month of launch by selling 450,000 copies worldwide. Thankfully, the developer is continuing its support, and adding new features like Story Mode. This will go live on September 26th, along with a new difficulty that makes combat a lot tougher.
While Story Mode focuses more on de-emphasizing combat and catering more to the game’s narrative, the new difficulty goes a different direction. Enemies will now grant less experience than before. That means if you want to become stronger, you may need to feed on a random citizen (or someone you care about for a bigger jump in power).
Along with Story Mode and the new difficulty, there will also be some bug fixes and support for Nvidia Ansel with the new update. The game is currently discounted by 33 percent on Steam, so it’s not the worst time to pick it up on PC. Vampyr is also available for Xbox One and PS4.
