Warcraft 3: Reforged Team Will Have News in June

We'll be hearing from the remaster's development team in June, according to a new tweet by Blizzard president Mike Ybarra.

Despite a few updates, the launch of Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft 3: Reforged was an unmitigated disaster. While the development team said they were working towards roadmap in May 2020, said roadmap never came. A report in January 2021 about the team’s dissolution didn’t help matters.

Nevertheless, it seems that Blizzard has something to showcase for the remaster. On Twitter, president Mike Ybarra was asked about any news from the Warcraft 3: Reforged team. He responded, “You’ll hear from them soon (in June).”

Perhaps a reveal at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase? It could be added to Game Pass (and the Microsoft Store by extension) with various fan-requested changes and features. Heck, the original Warcraft 3 may be returning with custom games restored to their former glory. We’ll have to wait and see.

The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase takes place on June 12th. While Microsoft hasn’t confirmed which games will be appearing, Bethesda’s Starfield should be present given director Todd Howard’s assurance last November. Stay tuned in the meantime.
