After receiving weekly events and paintings to collect, Fatshark’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is on the cusp of new DLC. Initially leaked through SteamDB, it’s called Winds of Magic and is slated for release in 2019. PC Gamer confirmed the DLC’s existence and also promised more information today at 4:30 AM PT.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has already received two DLC packs since releasing in 2018, with Back to Ubersreik and Shadows Over Bögenhafen. The former includes remastered levels from the first game, while the latter introduced new story quests and levels in Bögenhafen. Fatshark has also released several free updates. The recent introduction of weekly events is noteworthy, because they brought mutators which change up the gameplay.
The developer also reported that they’d accrued over two million players for Warhammer: Vermintide 2 as of January 2019. It was also revealed at the time that Chinese publisher Tencent had acquired 36 percent stake in the development studio, though Fatshark has remained independent. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
