Witcher 3 To Have More Immersion Than Skyrim

They are hoping to learn the lessons from others' mistakes.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, CD Projekt RED’s Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said that Skyrim was a generic game. He meant no offense obviously and just wanted to point out the things it doesn’t do well as an RPG.

He said that if they learn more about other open world RPGs and also apply their own knowledge of the genre, they could create the perfect RPG.

Skyrim’s quest system was broken, according to him. He says that “every quest needs to be designed [in a] way, [in which] NPCs can react to what you are doing, this immersion is better in the Witcher 2 because every choice got its own consequence,” which Skyrim didn’t do too well.

He did praise the game for its exploration and mentioned that it’s something it does really well, however, the game didn’t have good characters.

“They don’t get very good characters…I tried to remember 5 characters from Skyrim…and I can’t,” he said.

He then praised the game by saying, “Exploring of the world is cool…and for sure we need to learn from them, how to make an open world – how to make the feeling of open world.”

The Witcher 3 will be released in 2014 for the PC and next-gen consoles. You can check out our complete coverage of the game here.
