Microsoft are preparing for their big next-gen blowout. The Xbox Games Showcase is scheduled for a week from now, with July 23 being the day where multiple major first party games coming to Xbox Series X (and Xbox One) will be shown off. As the first Microsoft show dedicated to the kind of next-gen experiences we’re all waiting for, the event will have a lot to live up to- and it certainly seems like Microsoft have plenty to show.
Taking recently to Twitter, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg – head of marketing at Xbox – revealed that the Xbox Games Showcase will be roughly an hour long. Interestingly enough, he added that the show will focus purely on games, and there will be no talk of any kind about “business, devices, or similar news.”
The relentlessly leaked Xbox Lockhart will, according to recent reports, be revealed in August, so that falls in line with Greenberg’s promise about no news on devices. Meanwhile, rumours suggest that we won’t be learning about the Xbox Series X’s pricing just yet, which makes sense, since that would definitely qualify as business talk.
Halo Infinite’s first ever campaign reveal has been confirmed for the show, but beyond that, it’s all just unconfirmed reports at this time. A recent report suggested that contrary to prior rumours, The Initiative’s debut game will not be revealed at the show, though Playground Games’ long-rumoured Fable 4 is a game many are hoping (and expecting) will show up.
