XDefiant Open Session is Live on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC

Servers and parties have faced issues, which Ubisoft continues to investigate. Currently, "brief" match disconnects are expected.

Ubisoft’s XDefiant kicked off its Open Session recently, available free for everyone on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. The test is for controller play and stressing the servers. Demand appears high, as the latter has faced stability issues since the Open Session went live.

The development revealed it was aware of the issues and released an update to fix party invites (while improving matchmaking on the server side). Party issues persist, and players have been advised to keep them on the same platform as a workaround.

As of June 22nd, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET, Ubisoft confirmed that there would be some “brief” disconnects from matches but that they would be playable “shortly after.” It continues to look into server stability, so expect more updates. It’s unknown if the Open Sessions will be extended in light of these issues.

XDefiant releases for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC later this Summer. Post-launch, it will receive four new factions, 12 new weapons, and 12 more maps (one per month).
