Ubisoft will be prioritizing different factors as per the selected match type, which is pretty different from the traditional method of matchmaking in multiplayer shooters.
At launch, the multiplayer shooter will include 14 maps, 24 weapons, five factions, and five game modes.
The recent Server Test Session "went really well from a scale and server standpoint," but there's still "some tuning to do."
The server test session will be available for all players on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, with pre-loads currently available.
"After this short test, we expect to be able to lock a launch date and start sharing more about the exciting content XDefiant has to offer in the future," Ubisoft says.
