Yakuza: Like a Dragon has had a successful launch in Japan, which also saw the RPG topping Famitsu’s Japanese sales charts last week. Though Sega’s series re-invention sees a significant dip in sales in its second week on the market, it’s still managed to hang on to the top position, having sold nearly 40,000 units during the week.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which debuted in second place last week, has also seen a dip in sales, which sees it slipping down to the fourth spot, with sales of over 25,000 copies. Ring Fit Adventure sees a bit of a sales bump, rising to second place, while Pokemon Sword and Shield, in spite of slowing momentum, hands on to No. 3. The likes of Minecraft, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Luigi’s Mansion 3 have been charting in the top 10 on a consistent basis for a while now, and they do so once more this week. Meanwhile, Splatoon 2, in spite of a sales dip, manages to clinb up a few places and breaks into the top 10 at No. 10.
On the hardware front, sales for nearly every system are steady and largely unchanged from last week, with the exception of the Nintendo Switch, which sold nearly 30,000 fewer units this week- but was still far and away the best-selling console.
