Another New PS5-Exclusive Final Fantasy RPG Will be Announced Soon – Rumour

A cross-gen Eidos Montreal game is also allegedly going to be announced.

There’s no shortage of Final Fantasy content coming up in the near future, and most of it is exclusive to PlayStation. Final Fantasy 14 is coming to PS5 soon, with its next expansion, Endwalker, releasing later this yearFinal Fantasy 7 Intergrade is also on the horizon, while Final Fantasy 16 is in the works exclusively for the PS5. But that’s not all, it seems.

According to ResetEra user Navtra, who’s accurately leaked quite a few PlayStation-related announcements in the past, Square Enix will be announcing another new Final Fantasy RPG exclusively for the PS5, in addition to all the stuff that’s already been announced. Navtra says that though it won’t be “as high-end as FFXVI or Forespoken”, it’s still going to be a pretty big deal- bigger than something like, say, a remaster or a new World of Final Fantasy game. “Conceptually, I think it might be up many people’s alley,” the insider says.

Meanwhile, Navtra also claims that Square Enix will also be announcing an Eidos Montreal-developed cross-gen game soon. Deus Ex fans might be hoping for a series comeback, but it’s been previously reported that the developer is working on a Guardians of the Galaxy game, so maybe that announcement is coming soon.

ResetEra moderators have also stated that the insider has “provided compelling evidence to staff to verify their claims.” For what it’s worth, Square Enix has also previously said it has announcements planned for E3 2021.

Either way, this is all unverified information for now, so tread with caution. Either way, we’ll know for sure soon enough, so stay tuned for more updates.
