Contraband Originally Slated for 2022, Delayed to 2023 – Rumor

Avalanche Studios' co-op Xbox Series X/S and PC title may be coming later than expected as per Rand al Thor and Windows Central's Jez Corden.

There have been quite a number of rumors circulating for upcoming Xbox Series X/S projects, like the troubled development of The Initiative’s Perfect Dark. However, there have also been plenty with little to no details at all, like Avalanche Studios’ Contraband. Those looking forward to it will have to wait though as it’s seemingly been delayed to next year.

This is according toRand al Thor 19 and Windows Central’s Jez Corden on the Xbox Two Podcast. Apparently, the co-op title was slated to release this year according but has since faced a delay to 2023. No further details were provided but we’ll likely hear more official news in the coming months.

Microsoft is reportedly planning some kind of E3-style showcase in June (along with possible shows in May and September). According to Jeff Grubb, the company is “talking to partners to get big games in there.” Starfield is pretty much given and with Avowed apparently releasing in Q1/Q2 2023, it may also get a gameplay reveal. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
