CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 is seeing a resurgence on Steam. The FPS/RPG averaged around 20,000 concurrent players on Steam following the launch of Patch 1.6 and before the anime’s release on September 13th. However, after Cyberpunk: Edgerunners went live, it’s been shooting up in popularity.
A quick look at SteamDB shows peak concurrent players hitting 30,071 on September 14th, then 36,806 on September 15th and so on. It peaked yesterday with 85,555 concurrent players. Even right now, the numbers are pretty solid, with 74,863 players currently online and a 24-hour peak of 82,677 players.
While V doesn’t interact with the cast of Edgerunners in-game, Patch 1.6 has added new Fixer Gigs, firearms, melee weapons, and an arcade mini-game “Roach Race” for players to dive into. There are even various secrets related to the anime that players can discover in Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. It’s receiving a paid expansion next year with Phantom Liberty, though major updates like revamped police and melee combat are also in the works. These updates will be exclusive to current-gen consoles.
