Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

Cyberpunk 2077’s major story expansion, Phantom Liberty, has been officially revealed in a short teaser. Releasing in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Stadia (so not on last-gen consoles), it expands on a certain Night City district and introduces a new cast of characters. Johnny Silverhand is still present, with Keanu Reeves returning to voice the character.

Story-wise, not much is revealed though it seems V will work with the New United States of America (NUSA). Allied primarily with Militech, it consists of 51 states and other territories across the globe. It’s at odds with Arasaka, which controls the economy of the Free States. How this all comes together remains to be seen, but there are new areas to explore.

CD Projekt RED also outlined some of its plans with future updates, including an overhaul to the cop system and vehicle-to-vehicle combat. Cyberware that “feels” more like cyberware is being added, and melee combat is also receiving an overhaul. As noted previously, all future updates will be available only on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia.
