Cyberpunk 2077 seems to being quite a bit of success recently. CD Projekt RED took to Twitter to reveal that 1 million players have been playing Cyberpunk 2077 every day this week.
“Each day of this week Night City has been visited by 1 million players, both new and returning,” reads the studio’s statement on Twitter. “We wanted to use this opportunity to thank you for being with us and playing the game.”
The game’s recent popularity likely has to do with a number of updates it has gotten since its release, the recent announcement for an expansion, and most recently of all, the release of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.
Recently, the number of concurrent players for Cyberpunk 2077 had seen quite rise since the release of the anime. At the time of publishing, 60,263 players are currently playing Cyberpunk 2077, with a 24-hour peak of 86,130.
Since this only accounts for those playing the Steam version of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED’s 1 million player figure likely takes more players into account, including the GOG version of the game, as well as the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S versions.
