Four years on from the release of its last instalment, and three years on from the launch of The Ringed City, the last piece of Dark Souls content we’ve seen (till now), FromSoftware’s beloved role playing franchise continues to hit new milestones. Publisher Bandai Namco recently announced that the Dark Souls series has cumulatively sold over 27 million units worldwide since the first game first came out nearly a decade ago.
Over a third of those sales have come from 2016’s Dark Souls 3, which has amassed global sales of over 10 million units to date. Bandai Namco states that the game continues to be active, thanks to constant support from the community, and its player count continues to rise even today.
Bandai Namco and FromSoftware will soon be collaborating again on another game, namely the upcoming open world action RPG Elden Ring. A release date for the same is not currently know, but an unconfirmed insider report claimed couple months ago that the game is still a ways out from launch. Read more on that through here.
