Dead Space Remake – Extended Walkthrough Shows 8 Minutes of Gory and Gorgeous Gameplay

Motive Studio and EA have released a new and extended look at the upcoming survival horror remake.

EA and Motive Studio finally lifted the lid on the upcoming Dead Space remake earlier this month with a gorgeous debut gameplay trailer, and an extended gameplay walkthrough has also now been released, as was confirmed yesterday.

The walkthrough covers the beginning of chapter 3, which, as those who’ve played the original will remember, sees protagonist Isaac Clarke heading to the USG Ishimura’s control room in the engineering section to restart the ship’s engine.

With Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme providing commentary, the walkthrough highlights the visual upgrades made in the remake with direct comparisons to the original. Enhancements have ben made elsewhere as well- for instance, the Hangar bay is now much larger, and players can freely explore the area by flying through it.

Ducharme also speaks about Dead Space’s complete lack of load times and camera cuts, and how that helps with the Ishimura’s design, now being a seamless, interconnected ship and allowing players to travel between chapters at will, including to older areas.

That’s just the opening minute- it’s a meaty walkthrough that shows off quite a bit, covering Dead Space’s gory combat system and dismemberment mechanics, highlighting its incredible atmosphere and sound design, and more. Of course, visually, it’s continuing to look spectacular. Check it out below.

Meanwhile, additional new details have also emerged on other changes and improvements players can expect to see from Dead Space on the narrative and gameplay fronts. Read more on that through here.

Dead Space launches on January 27, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will cost $70 on consoles, and $60 on PC. Check out its PC requirements through here.
